Premier League Match Day 11 Review

Chelsea vs Burnley 1-1

Aston Villa have gone from good to bad, and they are now getting worse. They lost 1-0 at Southampton which leaves them 15th with 10 points and just 3 points off the relegation zone.

Chelsea dropped points in their game against Burnley at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea bossed the game but couldn’t find enough goals to win. 

The match of the day between Man. City and Man. United ended with a 2-0 victory for City. A big win for them which could help them greatly in the title race.

Brentford secured another loss to Norwich . It finished 1-2. They are beginning to lose form.

Liverpool can reduce Chelsea’s led at the top buy just a point if they can beat inform WestHam in Sunday Night Football.

Arsenal have a chance to move above Manchester United and into 5th position) when they play Watford.

Tottenham Hotspur travel to Everton. This is Antonio Conte’s first premier league game since he took over managerial affairs at Spurs.

Juventus qualify for next stage of Champions League

Juventus have qualified for the next stage of the UEFA Champions League. They defeated Zenit St Petersburg 4-2 to achieve this feat. Paulo Dybala scored a brace and one assist . Juventus have now won 4 matches out of 4 and have qualified for the next stage with 2 games to spare.

Champions Chelsea also kept their qualification Hopes much alive after beating Malmo 1-0. It was a game where Malmo had very few chances and Chelsea wasted theirs. Hakim Ziyech scored the winner for Chelsea in the 56th from a fine cross by Hudson Odoi.

This important victory for Chelsea at Sewden means they need just a point now to qualify for the next stage.

Antonio Conte appointed Tottenham Coach

Antonio Conte, a former Chelsea coach, has been appointed as the new coach of Tottenham Hotspurs. His contract will extend till the summer of 2023 with the option to extend.

The management of Tottenham believes that Antonio Conte is the right man for the Job as he is a manager used to winning trophies. He has won 4 series A titles, an FA cup and a Premier League title.

Hopefully Spurs will soon be a title winning side but it might take a while.

Chelsea beat Newcastle, go 3 points clear at the top

Chelsea beat Newcastle by 3 goals to nil to go 3 points clear at the top. Newcastle vs Chelsea was a tricky match. Newcastle defended with 11 men allowing Chelsea too much possession with the hope of catching  them (Chelsea on the counter). The Newcastle tactics did work in the first half as Chelsea could not find a goal despite their overall dominance.

Chelsea continued from where they stopped in the first half. Continual bombardment of the Newcastle defence caused them to cave in. Reece James scored in the 65 and 77 minute while Jorginho scored from the penalty spot to cap a fine win for the blues. 

In other matches.

Elsewhere in the premier league, Defending champions Manchester City dropped points as they were beaten 2-0 at home by Crystal Palace.  Liverpool played a 2-2 draw with Brighton, Arsenal defeated Leicester 2-0 while Manchester United defeated Spurs by 3-0.

Chelsea beat Norwich 7-0

Chelsea beat Norwich 7-0 at Stamford Bridge to remain top of the English Premier League. Chelsea were 2 goals up in 18 minutes through Mount and Odoi. Reece James netted the third just before half time. Ben Chilwell added a fourth early in the second half. Within the 60th and 65ft minute, Norwich conceded an own goal (Max Aarons)  and got one of their  players sent off (Ben Gibson) for 2 yellow cards. Chelsea added more misery on their opponents by capping their win with 2 more goals from Mason Mount. Mason Mount scored a hat-trick in this game.

This Chelsea victory means they will remain top of the table with at least 1 point clear at the end of match day 9.

Premier League Preview Match Day 9

Olusola

The star match of match day 9 is Liverpool vs Manchester United. This is an uphill task for United. They will need to get at least a point in this game or else they will end up in mid-table at the end of this round. Should Liverpool win this game, they will at least retain their second position and may even go top if Chelsea slip up against Norwich. 

Manchester City have a tricky Saturday night game against Brighton & Hove Albion. The away team is in form and City have got to be careful. 

Everton are off and on this season. They will have another chance to beat Watford at the comfort of their home. Should Everton lose,it will be a second back to back home game loss for them.

Arsenal already beat Aston Villa yesterday, it shows Arsenal is getting their form back.

Leicester City will travel to play Brentford. Brentford have been doing well since their promotion to the premier league so Leicester be warned!
