Chelsea Hold Liverpool at Stamford Bridge

It was Liverpool’s game to win after they went 2-0 up  within 26mins at Stamford Bridge. Somehow Chelsea rallied and equalized within 3 minutes of half time to end it 2-2. No goals in the second half.

Chelsea started the game brighter but it was Liverpool that struck first after Chalobah made a mess of clearing the ball and Mane took full advantage and slotted home the first goal for Liverpool in the 9th minute.

Another misplaced pass by Chelsea in the midfield resulted in a counter that left the Chelsea defence exposed, Salah took full advantage and scored from the edge of the goal post.

It looked like it was going to be a routh of goals for Liverpool but they failed to take advantage of a discouraged Chelsea squad.

And then it happened. One of those world class goals. Kovacic Volleyed in from outside the 18 yard box resulting from the clearance of a free kick. 

3 minutes later Chelse beat the offside trap of Liverpool after Kante set up a one on one encounter of Pulisic vs Liverpool’s goalkeeper. Pulisic kept his cool and coolly slotted home to make it 2-2 and the end of the first half in an entertaining game of football.

Liverpool had chances early in the second half for both Mane and Salah to help them take the lead but the Chelsea goalkeeper kept them out.

It was Chelse who looked more likely to score the winner late on but were not able to beat the stubborn Liverpool defence.

Match result 2-2.

The result means Chelsea is 10 points behind Manchester City in the title race. It’s now Manchester City’s title to lose.

In some other matches of match day 21, Tottenham defeated Watford 1-0, Everton lost to Brighton 2-3 at home, Westham United defeated Crystal Palace 3-2, Leeds United defeated Burnley 3-1, and Aston Villa lost to Brentford 1-2. Manchester United lost 0-1 at home to Wolves

WestHam have moved to fifth on the table one point behind Arsenal who lost to Manchester City last time out.

How Chcolate Bars are made From Cocoa

Chocolate is made from cocoa. I will briefly discuss the making of chocolate bars from cocoa in these 5 steps;

Harvesting

Storage & fermentation 

Sun drying 

Roasting

Grinding

Refrigeration.

Harvesting

The 2 major species of cocoa pods change from green to a yellowish or reddish colour respectively when ripe.

Storage & fermentation

Remove the cocoa seeds from the pods and store in a closed container for about a week. The process will ferment the cocoa seeds and give it a unique flavour. You can skip this step if you like.

Sun drying

Take out the seeds , spread them out on a tray and then sun dry. Sun drying the seeds can take up to 3 days. You can also skip this step, however roasting times may be higher.

Roasting

Roasting the cocoa beans will give the chocolate flavour you need. Roasting can take about 15 to 20 minutes. Roast on moderate heat. When the seeds are done their outer shells crack out easily with little pressure. Also their outer shells crack and give off a popping sound during roasting.

Grinding

This is a critical process in the making of chocolate. The goal is to grind the roasted seeds to a very smooth paste. Try to use very little no water at all during the grinding process. You can use a high powered blender or a hand steel grinder.

During the grinding you also add sugar and or milk and other flavours to taste. 

Chocolate bar

Refrigeration 

Pour the blended chocolate mixture into chocolate bar moulds ( made of plastic material) and store in a fridge or freezer.

After about an hour you will have your homemade chocolate bar.

How to make Pasta

In this article I will explain generally how pasta is made. Pasta is usually called spaghetti, macaroni and so on.

The simplest ingredients to make pasta are flour and water. Some cooks use eggs and wheat flour, some also use different types of flour that is mixed together with eggs and a pinch of salt.

Pasta machine

A small amount of water is mixed with the flour to form a workable dough. The dough is then left to rest for about 20 mins to make it more workable.

Thereafter the dough is now cut into various pasta shapes including the popular thin long strand spaghetti shapes. The cutting and shaping can be done with a pasta cutting and shaping machine or by hand.

After cutting/ shaping, the pasta is ready to cook. Or it  can be left to dry at room temperature for future use.

Chelsea lost ground again in their 1-1 draw with Brighton at Stamford Bridge. Lukaku headed in from close range following a corner kick midway in the first half. But Brighton, who Indeed played very well, got what they deserved after Danny Welbeck headed home from a fine cross in injury time.

Chelsea are now eight points behind Manchester City.

Manchester City on the other hand took full advantage of Chelse’s slip up as they extended their lead on top of the table with a 1-0 win at Brentford. Phil Foden gave the visitors the lead in the 16 minute. They indeed, should have scored more. Manchester City are now favorites to win the title with their eight point lead going into the new year. They are on a 10 match winning streak.
