EURO 2020 FINAL

Italy takes in England in the final of EURO 2020. It promises to be a very tight affair. England will be looking to win the cup again since 1966. But they are up against a very experienced and tactical Italian side. It will be advantage England because they will be playing at home in Wembley Stadium.

Euro 2020; England end Denmark’s Hope

England beat Denmark 2-1 to advance to the final of EURO 2020. This is the first time England will qualify for the final since 1966

Denmark scored first form free kick in the 30th minute through Milkel Dammsgaard . A good english response forced Denmark to conceed 9 minutes later from an own goal following a fine cross. The game went into extra time. In the 104th minute, England won a penalty after Raheem Sterling was brought down in the box by Joakim Maehle. Harry kane’s penalty was saved but the rebound fell to him kindly to shoot it home.

England face Italy for the title.

EURO 2020: Spain and Italy into the Semis

Spain and Italy book their place in the semifinals after defeats of Switzerland and Belgium respectively.

Spain scored first in their game against Switzerland by a deflected shot into the net. It was an own goal scored in the 8th minute. Denis Zakaria was the culprit. Spain had chances to have gone further ahead but the Switzs defended well. After much pressure in the second half Switzerland equalized through Xherdan Shaqiri in the 68th minute. The goal was aided by a Spanish defensive error. However Spain scaled through with a 3-1 win in the penalty shootout.

Belgium, the topped ranked team fell short again as they lost 1-2 to Italy. Belgium wasted chances but the Italians were cinical. All goals were scored in the first half, Italy got their goals in the 31st and 44th minutes through Nicolo Barella and Lorenzo Insigne respectively. But Belgium pulled one back before half time through a well taking penalty by Romelu Lukaku.
