Transparent apple soap. 

This is a transparent soap with apple fragrance.

Recipe:

4 ounces clear glycerine soap base

1 tablespoon liquid soap

1 teaspoon liquid glycerine

½ teaspoon of apple fragrance oil

2 drops of red food colour

½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Procedure

Melt the soap base ( you can use your microwave to do that).

Add the liquid soap and glycerine and stir the mixture.

Add the apple fragrance oil, red colour and cinnamon and stir well.

Pour the mixture into  moulds and let it harden overnight

After the soap has fully hardened, remove from mould and it is ready to use.

Foaming liquid soap

Recipe

245ml Castile liquid soap base

5ml vitamin E

10 drops of lemon oil

10 drops of Lavender essential oil

Directions

Mix the ingredients thoroughly and use.

Exfoliating cream soap:

Nice soapy and creamy soap that is soothing to the skin.

Ingredients

3.5 ounces of creme soap base

1 teaspoon D- Limonene

1 teaspoon fine pumice

2 teaspoon orange peel granules

5 drops of orange essential oil

Pure distilled water.

Directions

Mix all the ingredients except distilled water in a glass bowl. Use pure distilled water to thin out the mixture into your desired constituency. Store in a glass jar.

Sand soap

A good soap for cleaning oily and greasy stains.

Ingredients

1 pound of glycerine melt and pour soap base.

½ cup of fine sand

2 teaspoons Eucalyptus essential oil

Directions

Melt the soap base

Mix with fine sand and eucalyptus oil

Put into moulds and allowed to set

The traditional way to store data on a PC is in the Hard Disk Drive, HDD. These days, the HDD is gradually being replaced with the Solid State Drive, SSD. SSDs read and write data faster than the traditional HDD thereby making computing tasks faster. Presently SSDs are more expensive than HDDs. For instance a 500GB SSD can cost 4 times that of HDD of the same size.

The main differences between an HDD and SSD is as follows;

1.HDD stores data on a magnetic disk using moving parts that are spinning very fast. SSD have no moving parts and store data on integrated circuit assemblies.

2. SSDs are much smaller in size and HDDs, thereby making it possible for slimer laptops to be built.

What is Cloud Computing?

Once upon a time when the personal computer, PC, was created, the user was only limited to information available in his own computer or a local server. As PC usage grew, there was a need to access, query and receive information from a dedicated stable centralized location which is not characterized by downtimes and unavailability.

To many people cloud computing could mean accessing the internet, Gmail, watching movies on Netflix or storing files in a cloud storage service like Google Drive. However cloud computing has a much deeper meaning.

In 2011, The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) gave a final definition for the term ‘Cloud Computing’.

Cloud computing is defined as a model for enabling ubiquitous,convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of computable resources. e.g.( applications and services, storage, networks, servers) that can be rapidly positioned and released with minimal management effort of service provider interaction.

Essential Characteristics of Cloud Computing

A good cloud service should have the following characteristics;

  1. On demand self-service
  2. Broad network access
  3. Resource pooling.
  4. Rapid elasticity or expansion
  5. Measured service

Benefits you can get from using a cloud computing service includes;

Pay as you go service: only pay for a service you want to use within a specific time frame.

Security and disaster assistance: you are certain that your service will not be compromised, and even if it happens there will be prompt assistance

Off-site data storage: Cloud storage.

Lower cost of ownership: you only pay for the service you want to use. You don’t need to set up any local server or so.

Access from anywhere: You can access your files from any location around the world using your PC, laptop or mobile device.

Here are some tips on how to better use your Android keyboard

HIDE OR REVEAL KEYBOARD: 

The keyboard should turn on automatically when typing is needed or when you tap in the text box. To hide keyboard in any app, tap the Back button once.

TOGGLE CAPS LOCK:

 To type a capital letter, tap the shift key once. If you need to type all letters in uppercase, tap and hold the shift key or double click the shift key.

SELECT TEXT:

To select a single word or selection of text, just tap and hold or double tap around the text area. You can then drag the ends of the highlighted texts to increase or decrease selection. To place a cursor within a text, simply gentle tap the place within the text you want to put it.

CHANGE CAPITALIZATION:

If you need to change the capital of a text, just select it then press the shift key once. It will change the first letter of the word to capital, if you press the shift button again, the whole selected word or words will be in capital and another press of the shift key will change all the word/words to small letters.

USING EMOJI:

To use emoji just Press the emoji button to start.

NEXT WORD SUGGESTIONS:

As you type on your Android keyboard you will notice that some words appear above. These are suggested  words. To use these words in your message/note just tap it. It makes your typing faster.

VOICE TYPING

Tapping the microphone button in your Android keyboard to input text by speaking. Just Press the microphone button and after the prompt say what you want to type and what you have spoken will be typed.

YOUR DICTIONARY:

You can add your own words to your personal dictionary so that your device remembers them. Just go to settings- personal language & input – Google keyboard – text correction – personal dictionary ,then select the language of the dictionary you want to modify. Choose add then type in the word.

  1. Heat and corrosion resistant bowls: this could be heat resistant plastic bowls or stainless steel bowls. Wooden or aluminum bowls should be avoided. 
  2. Electric scales and pipettes: Soap making is a precision process. The ingredients have to be mixed in the exact quantity. The makes the high precision electric scales and pipettes essential tools to have.
  1. Corrosion resistant pots and spoons: pots and spoons should be able to resist the corrosiveness of caustic soda or lye. Aluminum and wooden spoons should be avoided.
  2. PH indicators: this helps to measure the power of the lye and also ensure that the PH of the soap making ingredients is within accetable levels.
  3. Moulds: moulds for soap making are available in a wide range sizes. Soap moulds can be made of plastic, silicone or stainless steel material
  4. Cutters: for cutting the soap into standard sizes after it has hardened.

Everton vs Liverpool. 0-0

Everton are still searching for their first win. However they should take some positives from this game as the search for their first win of the season continues.

Brentford vs Leeds United. 5-2

Brentford win their second game of the season. After going 2-0 up, they let Leeds into the game, but a red card for the visitors helped ensure that Brentford claimed all 3 points.

Chelsea vs WestHam United. 2-1

Chelsea didn’t play particularly well in this game and very lucky to have won it. Lacklustre defending put the host on the tightrope. Chelsea will have to improve if they even have to make top 4 this season. Disappointment for WestHam, they should have at least taking a point off this game.

Newcastle vs Crystal Palace. 0-0

Newcastle will be the less happier of the 2 sides. But the host should still be proud of theri performance. Good start to the season so far.

Nottingham Forest vs AFC Bournemouth. 2-3

Nottingham Forest lacking in confidence. After going 2-0 up, they let their visitors into the game. For the hosts, the premier league is hard.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Fulham. 2-1

Another 3 points for Tottenham, and they are marching on. The hosts are now 2nd on the league table for the meantime.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Southampton. 1-0

Wolves get their first win of the season. They were made to work hard for the win. Southampton on the other hand failed to follow up from their victory over Chelsea last time out.

Aston Villa vs ManchesterCity.  1-1

Manchester City have dropped points for the second time this season after this draw. The visitors paid for a host of missed chances. Manchester City remain second on the league table one point behind Arsenal who have a game in hand.

Brighton Hove Albion vs Leicester City. 5-2

Leicester City opened the scoring, but after that, the host fought back strong and eventually overpowered City. On Brighton’s day, Leicester City just couldn’t cope. City’s poor run continues. In Fact they are bottom of the table and winless after 6 games. Brighton are 4th.

Manchester United vs Arsenal. 3-1

This game was the first litmus test for Arsenal, and I won’t say Arsenal failed, but then, ita a derby and on United’s day their was nothing the visitor’s could do. Arsenal created several chances but United defended well. Superior tactical moves ensures Manchester United win their 4th straight game in 6. Arsenal remain top of the league despite the loss.
