Cement is the binding agent that binds sand or sand and rock to form a  very strong concrete mass within a few days. Without cement, there is no concrete. Without cement there is no mortar.

Concrete has made it possible to build structures never before possible. Without cement to make the concrete, it would have been impossible.

Small graded rock particles, sand, cement and water are mixed together in certain proportions to make concrete. The water interacts with cement to bind the mixture into a solid mass within a few days.

There are different types of cement including;

Ordinary Portland cement,

Rapid hardening cement,

Low heat cement,

White ordinary portland cement… and so on. The common thing all these types of cement do is to Bind together when water is added.

The ordinary Portland cement is the most produced type of cement. It is suitable for all kinds of concrete and mortar works.

Cement is usually supplied in 50kg and 25kg bags. It has a volume of 0.033 cubic meter and density of 1440kg per cubic meter.

Hollow Sandcrete Blocks

Hollow sandcrete blocks are the common units for wall construction in West Africa and many parts of the world. The blocks are designed hollow to make them easier to carry. The hollowness of the blocks also enable easier placement of conduit pipes and other accessories inside the wall.

Sandcrete hollow blocks are made of cement, sand and water in controlled proportions. 

A block making machine moulds the block into shape, then compresses and compacts it before it is left to dry in the sun.

Sandcrete blocks can be used for the construction of load or non load bearing walls. They also have very good fire resistance properties. 

The blocks are produced in various sizes. The 225mm( thick) by 225mm (height) by 450mm ( length) is used for external wall construction, while the 150mm(thick) by 225mm ( height) by 450mm ( length) is used for internal wall partitions.

How to Delete Several Bookmarks at once in Google Chrome.

It is easy to delete one or two bookmarks when using the google chrome browser. But what of if you want to delete several bookmarks at once; here’s how.

  1. Start your google chrome browser. if you cant find the search icon on your desktop, for a windows 10 PC, you can do a search for it using the search app.

2. In your chrome browser, right click the 3 vertical dots (see figure below) at the top right, scroll down to bookmarks, then select bookmark manager.

3. To the left you will see some bookmark folders. when you right click a default folder, the option to delete folder is not available. But when you right click a created bookmark folder, the option to delete folder is available.

4. The Afri tv Source (shown below) is a created bookmarks folder containing a lot of bookmarks. When you right click on this type of folder, the option to delete is available. Clicking on delete will delete this type of folder and all its accompanying bookmarks.

5. The Bookmarks bar ( shown below) is a default folder. When you click on this type of folder and look to its right, you will see all the bookmarks contained in the folder. Press Ctrl+ A to select all the bookmarks, then hit the delete key on your keyboard to delete all the bookmarks inside this folder.

How to Clean Your Hard Disk in Windows 10 PC

Cleaning your PC/laptop is necessary when your computer becomes slow in operation.

To clean  your hard disk, follow these steps for a windows 10 PC.

Locate the search icon on your desktop screen and click on it.

Click in the search bar and type; My PC.

Click on ;  MY PC app to open.

Locate local disk C or the name given to your primary harddisk.

Right click it then click properties.

Then click Disk cleanup.

Computer then searches out items you can delete.

Click check boxes of items you want to delete.

Click ok.

The computer gives you final warning on files you have chosen to delete.

Click, delete files.

The computer then deletes those junk items off your hard disk.
