Brenford vs Manchester City

Chelsea lost ground again in their 1-1 draw with Brighton at Stamford Bridge. Lukaku headed in from close range following a corner kick midway in the first half. But Brighton, who Indeed played very well, got what they deserved after Danny Welbeck headed home from a fine cross in injury time.

Chelsea are now eight points behind Manchester City.

Manchester City on the other hand took full advantage of Chelse’s slip up as they extended their lead on top of the table with a 1-0 win at Brentford. Phil Foden gave the visitors the lead in the 16 minute. They indeed, should have scored more. Manchester City are now favorites to win the title with their eight point lead going into the new year. They are on a 10 match winning streak.

English Premier League Review Match Day 19

Manchester City tighten their grip  at the top of the premier league table after defeating Leicester city 6-3 at the Etihad. It was a game the champions almost lost control off after Leicester almost equalized from 4 goals down. City however rallied and won the game comfortably. They are 6 points clear at the top.

Liverpool will not have the chance to get closer to Manchester city as their game against Leeds United has been postponed due to COVID-19 infection cases.

Wolves vs Watford and Everton vs Burnley have also been postponed.

Chelsea maintained their six points behind Manchester City as they defeated Aston Villa by 3-1. Chelsea had to recover from a goal down to win the game. They are in 3rd position with 41 points.

High flying Arsenal walloped Norwich city 5-0. They are in fourth position with 35 points.

Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur defeated Crystal Palace 3-0. They are fifth on the table with 29 points but with 3 games in hand over Arsenal in fourth.

Manchester United play Newcastle later today.

Chelsea take on Tottenham in Carabao Cup

Chelsea’s prize for beating Brentford in the quarterfinal is a 2 legged semifinal against Conte’s Tottenham. The first leg will be played on January 5th, 2022 at Stamford Bridge. The second leg, January 12th.The second semi final fixture between Arsenal and Liverpool first leg will be played on January 6th while the second leg will be played at Anfield on January 13th. 

The final will be played on February 25 2022.

Match day 17 of the English premier league has concluded.  7 matches played and 3 games postponed due to Covid-19 issues.

Manchester City top the table with 41 points followed by Liverpool on 40 points. Chelsea lost ground and are 3rd on 37 points after they dropped points in their 1-1 draw with Everton. Arsenal replaced WestHam in 4th position after beating them 2-0.

Norwich is rock bottom of the table after their 2-0 home loss to Aston Villa. Newcastle are second from bottom after their 3-1 loss at Liverpool.

Manchester United is  in sixth position but their match against Brentford postponed. The match between Leicester City and Spurs was postponed as well as that of Burnley Vs Watford.

Man City Send Strong Message to Chelsea and Liverpool

Mancity beat leeds 7-0

Manchester City have sent a very strong message to title rivals Liverpool and Chelsea by hammering Leeds United 7-0. 

The goal feast for city started in the 8 minute by Foden and was concluded by Axe in the 78th minute. It was a game Manchester City dominated throughout.

Leeds United had no positives to take out of this game. They played so badly.
