English Premier League Round Up (17th October, 2020)

Everton Vs Liverpool  2-2

Everton came from behind twice to remain unbeaten in the premier league in a thrilling encounter at Goodison Park.With just 3 minutes into the game Liverpool scored through Sadio Mane.

But things didn’t go as planned for Liverpool ; Virgil Van Dijk came off injured after a foul on him by the Everton goalkeeper in an offside decision. Everton then equalized from a corner when Michael Keane Headed home.

With 18 minutes left, Salah volleyed in to make it 1-2, but Everton equalized with 9 minutes left. Everton remain top of the Table with 13 points while Liverpool are second.

Chelsea Vs Southampton (3-3)

Southampton were heading for defeat but Jannik Vestergaard header claimed an injury time equalizer as Chelsea were held at Stamford Bridge. Again, Chelsea had themselves to blame for poor defending.

Chelsea were in control for most of the first half with 2 excellent Timo Werner goals. When it looked like Chelsea would finish the first half 2-0, Southampton struck back as Danny Ings rounded Kepa Arrizabalaga to finish.

12 minutes into the second half,Che Adams capitalized on a poor Chelsea Defending to make it 2-2. Two minutes later Chelsea made it 3-2 through Havertz’s goal after a fantastic attacking display.

Chelsea were heading for a 3-2 win but were pegged back with the visitors injury time equalizer. 

Manchester City Vs Arsenal  (1-0)

Manchester City were victorious as they piped Arsenal 1-0. Raheem Sterling got the 3 points for them as he finished off a rebound from Phil Foden’s saved shot in the 23rd minute.

Arsenal had their chances to level but were denied by excellent saves and bad luck. Manchester city moved up to 10th in the table, 2 points behind Arsenal.

Newcastle Vs Manchester United (1-4)

Manchester United left it late, but eventually defeated Newcastle by four goals to one. It took just 2 minutes for Newcastle to open up the scoring as a goal bound shot deflected from Shaw into the net.

Maguire equalized at 23 minutes after much pressure. Manchester United continued to search for the winner and it came in the 86th minute by a superb goal from Bruno Fernandes.

Newcastle now discouraged left their defense wide open for Manchester United to score 2 more goals in injury time.
